Four-Ingredient DIY Vegan Hair Mask
My hair totally took a hit after the dry summer heat, but this avocado hempseed oil vegan hair mask saved me! It left my hair softer and shinier than it has been in so long. I was searching for a good vegan hair mask recipe but couldn't find one just right. I chose each of these ingredients for a reason because each has special benefits that will do wonders for your hair!
VEGAN HAIR MASK:
1 Tbsp. hempseed oil
5 drops tea tree oil
*Add a little water if you have trouble blending*
- Section hair and apply from root to tip.
- Massage into scalp for 2-3 minutes.
- Leave in for 20 minutes.
- Rinse out with cold water.
Be sure NOT to use any conventional shampoos to wash out, as this could ruin all of the effects of the mask. It is best just to rinse out the mask, but if you are uncomfortable with your hair being oily afterwards, wash it out with a light, all-natural shampoo such as Dr. Bronners.
The Benefits of Each Ingredient
Avocado: the healthy fats and oils in avocado will rejuvenate the scalp, helping promote hair growth and restoration of dry, dead hair
Hempseed oil: will moisturize the scalp and hair as well as stimulate hair growth and prevent breakage. I am obsessed with hemp seed oil! I use it to wash my face too. It easily takes off my make up and acts as a deep cleanser and moisturizer. My skin has never been as glowy!
Banana: The high potassium content in banana as well as vitamins A, B, magnesium and zinc make it an all-natural conditioner. Banana also helps to prevent dandruff and promotes a healthy scalp.
Tea Tree oil: I used this all-natural, antibacterial essential oil in the hair mask for its incredible cleansing properties and the many benefits it has for hair growth and repair. Tea tree oil can help to clear away any bacteria and unclog pores on the scalp that have built up over time from product build-up. Tea tree oil will also clear away dead skin to promote hair and cell growth.
You can also use this as a face mask. It will help clear acne and create soft, glowing skin!
